Friday 9/25/09 Fashion Fights Poverty Fashion Show (Fundraising Event)
LOCATION: The Renaissance Mayflower Hotel
1127 Connecticut Avenue NW,
Washington DC 20036
Cost: $150 seated, $75 standing
From Fashion Fights Poverty website:
"Fashion Fights Poverty (FFP) is one the largest ethical fashion non-profit organizations in the United States. Honoring national and international designers who employ ethical practices in their design and manufacturing processes to produce products that promote economic development of a given community, FFP provides a forum for dialogue and awareness-building about how fashion, textiles, and design can alleviate poverty and empower communities."

Fashion Show description from their information packet:
"The fashion show is the climax of Fashion Fights Poverty’s annual fundraising effort. The purpose of the benefit is to showcase the designs of emerging and established (mainstream and non mainstream) eco and/or ethical fashion designers and artisans as a way of raising money for our beneficiary and programs. Ultimately, as part of the Dress Responsibly campaign, FFP looks to introduce consumers to new and exciting fashions, products, and designs.

This year’s 5th anniversary celebration will be no different, with most of the designers having a multicultural/international history or influence. FFP is excited about the diversity this year’s designers possess and the ability for their stories to connect with FFP’s program mission of supporting global projects."

Have a sexy, smart, stylish, September!

Jahji!
