Color of the Year for 2009: Mimosa

Who decides the colors for the seasons? Pantone!

They have an entire section of their company dedicated to forecasting and producing the color palettes for many industries, including the fashion industry.

MIMOSA (#14-0848)
"The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation."---From www.pantone.com

Maybe that's why I was drawn to that yellow silk gown!

Check out Pantone's Fashion Color Report Spring 2009,with designers like Nannette Lepore, Tracy Reese, and Reem Acra chiming in from the Sep 08 NY Fashion Week.
